The Manuscript Audit & Developmental Plan
FLAT RATES
So, you’ve finished your draft. But now you’re staring at your manuscript wondering where to even begin.
This is where a lot of writers get stuck. They might jump straight into perfecting sentences, only to realise later that a fundamental structural issue means entire chapters need to be rewritten.
But what if you had a map?
The Manuscript Audit & Developmental Plan is that map. It’s a practical, in-depth diagnostic of your story’s foundation. We apply a systematic approach derived from non-fiction development (you heard that right!) to your novel, giving you a developmental plan so you can start revisions with direction and confidence!
Unlike our other services, this service is offered at flat rates:
Up to 45k words: $297
Up to 90k words: $597
Up to 120k words: $897

Developmental Editing
$0.009-$0.012 per word

In-line developmental comments that may include questions, feedback, and suggestions.

Line Editing (incl. basic proofread)
$0.008-$0.011 per word
Line editing is the stylistic part of book editing, where writing will be evaluated sentence-by-sentence. Things like word choice, sentence structure, metaphor usage, tone consistency, and redundancies will be looked out for. The extent of sentence rewrites will be discussed on a project-by-project basis.
What You’ll Get:
-
In-line edit suggestions (can be approved or rejected).

One pass of proofreading to check for any glaring grammatical errors and typos.

One revision pass and follow-up session after the line edit suggestions have been implemented.

Copy editing is the technical part of book editing, where all the grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors are weaved out. It also includes suggestions to improve the flow, clarity, and accuracy of the writing.
Proofreading is completed after all stages of editing, and is where typographical, formatting, and other minor errors will be corrected.
What You’ll Get:
-
In-line edit suggestions (can be approved or rejected).
-
A style sheet just for your manuscript, cataloguing character details, world rules, a glossary, and grammatical/style choices.
-
One round of proofreading after the first round of copy edits have been approved by the author.
-
One follow-up session to discuss any uncertainties post-delivery.
